Chili Lime Turkey Tacos


  • 1 lb ground turkey meat (can substitute ground beef or chicken)
  • 4 oz. can green chiles
  • 1 teaspoon Chili lime seasoning (Trader Joe’s)
  • 1/2 taco seasoning packet
  • Habernero lime tortillas (Trader Joe’s) or any other tortillas of choice
  • 1/2 of a Green Pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 Red Onion, chopped and divided
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded Mexican Blend Cheese
  • Avocado, sliced or diced
  • Tomatoes, chopped
  • Lettuce or Cilantro
  • Salsa, Queso or Guacamole (optional)
  • Cooked Rice – optional (I love the Trader Joe’s frozen brown rice that heats up in less than 3 minutes in the microwave)


  1. Chop up onion, green pepper, tomatoes, lettuce and avocado.
  2. Break up ground meat in saute pan on medium heat.
  3. Add green chiles, green pepper, half of the onion, and seasonings. Continue to cook on medium heat, stirring regularly until meat lightly browns.
  4. Heat up rice, if using.
  5. Heat tortillas in skillet with a little bit of oil, flipping once, cook until lightly browned in a few spots.
  6. Remove meat mixture from heat and cover until ready to eat.
  7. Serve tortillas topped with meat mixture and and the remaining toppings.
