My new favorite Vietnamese restaurant invited me to dine with them for their 1 Year Anniversary last night and my palette is pretty darn happy about it. iPho is located at Park Selwyn Terrace (the shopping center where Park and Selwyn intersect @ 5110 Park Rd.)
As I was trying to make most important decision of the evening, what drink to order, the owner, Hien, explained to me that each and every wine on their menu was handpicked because it pairs well with the flavors in the food served, and none were too oakey as that would distract the palette from your meal. I was served a nice unfiltered Sake that I sipped throughout each course.
We started with the A6. Chicken Wings, marinated nicely in fish sauce and topped with onions and shallots to differentiate from your typical chicken wings and man were they tender! 
Next up we split CS6. Chicken Pad Thai and before even tasting the dish, we noticed the noodles didn’t look like your traditional Pad Thai noodles. The secret: HOMEMADE, and wow could you taste the difference. I literally savored every. single. bite. Even the flavors in the Pad Thai sauce, you could tell the difference in the way every ingredient was prepared with intention, no shortcuts allowed. I mean look at the size of these noodles!
We also split this Pho: N3. Eye round and Brisket Noodle – Tai Nam. I did not doubt it at all when Hien told us that this dish cooked in true bone marrow for 15 hours with 12 spices. The flavors from the broth, when paired with dipping the meat in hoisin sauce, was salivating!
To close it out, we had a version of tiramisu mixed with coffee cake that was the perfect ending to an awesome meal. I was honored to be there for their 1 Year Anniversary and know that iPho will continue to thrive. PS the takeout business was on fire the entire time I was there, and it is in the perfect location to stop by on your way home from work and get you some comfort food!
